Have a little Faith
The Sseko Designs workshop in Uganda is a growing and evolving place. We’re all learning and changing together. When someone experiences a death or tragedy, the Sseko family rallies in support. When someone gets married or has a baby, the family rejoices with her.
It’s life, and we’re living it together.
Part of Sseko’s vision is to act as a stepping stone. Sseko strives to create a positive, empowering work culture. We hope that the work experience, salary, and skills acquired at our workshop allow our employees to go even further in life. We have big dreams around here.
The sad part of pursuing dreams is leaving the old behind. But a stepping stone is part of a bigger path, and the path is long. There are many steps both behind and ahead.
That said, we bid farewell to our dear sister, Faith, this week. Faith has worked with us since August 2011. She is a dedicated member of the “sole team,” producing the bases of the Sseko sandals. She has a strong spirit and is confident in her work. Her drive and ambition has led her to a new opportunity.
Faith will be moving from Kampala to Mbala, a smaller city about 3 hours northeast of Kampala. Faith has an internship opportunity with the public service finance department. She is hoping that this internship leads to her next job opportunity in the same field.
We are sad to see her go and will remember the role she played in this season of Sseko. We are confident that she will do great things, and we’re excited for the updates and reunions to come. Sseko, too, will continue to grow and evolve. Someone new will soon be welcomed onto the sole team, and our family will grow a little bit bigger.
Thank you, Faith, for all of your hard work and dedication. We love you and will miss your sweet smile and joyful presence at the Sseko workshop. Good luck and godspeed! (Don’t forget to come back and visit us!!)
