U.S. Based Internship Details
All US-based internship positions will require 10-20 hours a week. The term will last from January 15th to May 15th. (If you are selected for a position and still in school, we will work with your academic schedule.) This is an unpaid internship and college credit is offered. All positions will be based in Portland, Oregon. If you relocate to Portland for the position, we will work with you to find affordable and conveniently located housing.

Office Maverick
This position will assist the leadership team in a variety of creative and administrative duties. We are looking for a big-dreaming, business savvy, detail-oriented office maverick to help us run smoothly.
In the world of Sseko, a “Day at the Office” includes everything from:
- Communicating with customers and advocates
- Scheduling Sseko events and speaking engagements
- Maintaining relationships with retailers
- Inside and outside sales
- Communications outreach
- Marketing efforts
- Contributing to social media campaigns
- Research on product development and market trends
- And the list goes on!
The range of responsibilities is essentially endless. If there is something you are particularly good at and passionate about, we will do our best to incorporate that into your responsibilities. If you love an unchanging, predictable routine, this is NOT the job for you.
Absolute Musts:
- Must be committed to and excited about women’s issues, social justice and using social entrepreneurship as means to economic, educational and social improvements
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft office programs
- Organized and detailed oriented
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Must be flexible and creative
- Fun. We will be spending a lot of time with you. So this is very important

Merchandising Master
This position will assist the sales team with merchandising efforts and trade show design. We need someone who’s savvy in design and build. Being handy with a hammer, able to run with Sseko branding and create well-made, story telling display pieces is vital.
Our “Merch Master” will have duties beyond drawing and hammering! Tasks will vary and may include any of the following:
- Designing trade show booths
- Building exclusive display pieces for Sseko sales team
- Maintaining relationships with retailers
- Inside and outside sales
- Communications outreach
- Marketing efforts
- Retailer campaign and contest development
- And the list goes on!
The range of responsibilities is essentially endless. If there is something you are particularly good at and passionate about, we will do our best to incorporate that into your responsibilities. If you love an unchanging, predictable routine, this is NOT the job for you.

- Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus, but general artistic ability is a must
