Impact

Connect through your sole.

Raum Goods is on a quest to connect people back to mother earth. We set out to make an ethically-sourced shoe that was made of all-natural materials and conductive to the earth. Each shoe is made by a skilled group of artisans in Southern Turkey that have been making shoes for more than five generations. Over 10% of our artisans are Syrian refugees and that are trained by our expert Turkish cobblers. All leather used is a bi-product of the food industry and we use every bit of it. Our soles are naturally vegetable-tanned that does not use chrome in the tanning process. We significantly reduce water waste and pollution that is typical in the footwear industry by not using steel molds or harmful chemicals in our shoe making process. The vast majority of shoes have components sourced from all over the world. This significantly contributes to greenhouse gas emission during their transportation. We are so proud that ALL parts of our shoes are sourced locally to Southern Turkey within a 90 mile radius. This is virtually unheard of in modern footwear.

All of our products are shipped in natural linen bags and an outer shipping carton made from 100% post consumer recycled cardboard. We always look to eliminate waste wherever possible because we care about our planet. We are so proud to be able to provide our products and packaging with zero plastic!

Minimalist comfort.

Our shoes have a zero-drop sole and is made from a porous water buffalo leather. This type of sole is extra conductive by absorbing the earth's moisture and your perspiration. Your feet mold into the leather over time creating an amazing level of comfort that brings you back to how your body was designed to feel. 

 

Sizing 

Our footwear is truly made by hand using natural materials, so the fitting should be snug at first, allowing them to break in and stretch over time. Please read our thoughtful notes describing our beautiful shoes to insure you get the perfect fit!

Women's Shoe Sizing

Our shoes fit true to size but if you are in-between sizes, please size UP to find your correct size in Raum's. For SANDALS, please size DOWN if you are in-between sizes. 

Please see the below chart for exact measurements if you are unsure of your shoe size.

To measure your feet:

1. Place a piece of paper on the ground

2. Trace the outline of BOTH feet carefully, try to be mark as close to the foot as possible. 

3. Take a ruler and measure the distance between your heel marking and longest toe. *Take the larger measurement between both feet (most people have two different size feet)

4. Check the chart above and find your corresponding shoe size WITHIN the closest 2MM. Feel free to round up or down, but understanding our shoes stretch a little because they are 100% leather.

1. We currently offer WHOLE SIZES ONLY.

2. BREAK-IN: Raum shoes are made of natural leather and 100% cotton sole stitching so they should fit snug at first, and then begin to stretch and mold to your feet over time. Depending on frequency of wear, they will stretch between a few days and a few weeks. Please be patient during the break-in process, we are confident our shoes will become your favorite and most comfortable shoes in time! Our sizing guide above takes the break-in process into consideration.

If your toes touch the edge of the shoe but do not "curl" or hurt, they should be the correct fit as they will stretch. We recommend wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure you have the right fit. Wearing socks might also help speed up the break-in period. If you shoes need to be stretched in specific places or just slightly more, please bring them to a local cobbler and they will be able to professionally stretch them. 

4. The construction of Raum shoes is done with a single piece of waxed 100% cotton thread. This stitching is prevalent on the inside of the shoe and some people with sensitive feet can feel the stitching. The stitching will soften up after the break-in period and become flatter, however some people with very sensitive feet might not be able to withstand the feeling of this stitching under their feet. 

Returns

This item will ship to you directly from Raum. Raum accepts returns on all products that are unworn and unaltered within 30 days of purchase. A $8.95 fee will be withheld from your refund to cover shipping and restocking costs per shoe. We recommend trying on your shoes inside and walking very slow on flat carpet to ensure the bottoms do not get damaged.

We do not accept returns on any shoes that have been worn with ANY visible markings on the bottoms.

The shoes have a leather sole so they can be slippery when new. Please wear with absolute caution and at your own risk. Please note the inside stitching can feel rough and noticeable at first, this is 100% cotton and will flatten and soften after a few wears and you will not even be able to tell it is there :)
