Meet Sarah!

About:  Sarah is from Ssenya in Lwengo District, from a family of five children. Her mom died in 2005, and she joined an orphanage home at that time. She loves singing and playing an instrument- among friends she is known as the best musician. Some of her favorite things in life are gospel music, the color pink, and matooke with g-nuts (plantains with peanut sauce). She dreams of traveling to see St. Peter’s Square with her own two eyes.

Future Plans: At Sseko, she’s looking forward to learning new skills and the opportunity to be mentored by her co-workers. That hope for connection shows up in her career aspirations, as she’d like to become a human resources manager. While she’s been through a lot, she looks forward to the future. “Never lose hope,” she advises, “because suffering is never the end.”

Sarah headed off to University! She embarked off to pursue her dreams. Her first step... starting at Kyambogo University studying Business Administration.
